PONY CLUB

Pony Club...

The Pony Club is one of the largest equestrian youth organisations in the world and Foxhills is pleased to be part of it as an accredited Pony Club Centre. You do not have to own your own pony to come to Pony Club but you do have to have a strong interest in learning how to look after one.
Our Centre operates on Wednesday evenings 5pm to 7pm during term time. A little like the scouts and guides. We quite often have 30 plus children aged 7 to 14+ who are split into smaller groups and each group working towards different aspects of horse/pony care culminating in the award of badges of competence that can be sown onto their Foxhills Pony club jumpers/sweatshirt which are available and personalised from Jonty Equestrian, Lodge Farm, Bosty Lane, Aldridge. WS9 0QQ Tel 07877 205589.

There is no need to book, just turn up at WS9 0RQ between 4.30pm and 5pm with a note book and pen plus £7 and a small snack and drink for the half time break. Children can be collected between 6.45pm and 7pm. You are very welcome to come for up to three weeks as a trial but should you wish to continue you will be required to become a member of the official Pony Club. To Join just Google The Pony Club, Click on find a club, search for Foxhills Riding centre and click join. Membership runs for 12 months starting from the date you join and costs £41. There are many benefits to becoming a member including insurance, discounts etc and also means that we can issue badges that have been earned.

There are nearly 100 badges to collect covering a very comprehensive itinerary of horse/pony care. Pony Club is a great way to learn whilst having fun and meeting new like minded friends. No experience is necessary and total beginners are very welcome as well as riders who want to further their knowledge. Foxhills Pony Club is non ridden but there is plenty of hands on with the ponies including grooming, plaiting, leading and lots more. Much of the time is in the classroom or during summer outside in the open air.

You can pay for more than one week at a time ie; 2,4,6, 10 weeks etc and this will be credited to the members account. If a member misses a week for illness or holiday etc the payment for that week will automatically be moved forward

It is very important that Pony Clubbers arrive dressed appropriately for the weather, We consistently see children either under or over dressed. If you possess a riding hat it is recommended to bring it with you or you can use one of ours when needed. All hats must meet current equestrian safety standards with a British standards kite mark and a PAS No of 2011 or newer
