Riding Lessons
Whether you are an established rider wanting a hack out / refresher lesson or you may never have sat on a horse before in your life. No matter what your age or ability as long as you are over 5 years of age we will do our best to make your experience at Foxhills a pleasurable one.
We offer lessons in a group, one to one and semi-private. Throughout your lesson you will have maximum time in the saddle and only students that can smile will be accepted.
Our instructors are extremely experienced and friendly and will nurture your potential to its full extent. As you progress with your riding you will be offered the chance to move up to the next level and even enjoy rides out off the premises.
No matter what your age or ability, your very first lesson will be a taster lesson so that we can decide where to start you off and for you to decide whether you want to continue.
All lessons must be paid for in advance and are not refundable. All lessons will go ahead unless the instructor decides otherwise.

What To Wear If you are a complete beginner it can be very expensive to go out and buy a load of riding gear until you are sure that you want to continue having lessons. We suggest Wellies/boots/shoes that have at least a 2cm strong heel (NOT TRAINERS), long trousers, trackie bottoms ok but not too baggie and jeans are ok and T shirt/ sweat shirt and dependant on the weather a jacket that is not too baggy but allows easy movement of your arms. A safety hat can be hired from the office for £1. (NO jewellery is allowed) When you want to start purchasing your own clothing the internet can be a good start. Again we suggest the first purchase is a safety riding hat followed by proper safety riding boots then jodhpurs etc. With the hat and boots it is extremely important that these fit correctly and having your head measured and hat size selected by a trained fitter is paramount. Just up the road from Foxhill’s is Andy Tack run by Janet who has offered Foxhill’s Students a substantial discount on production of their Membership card.
Membership is not mandatory but at £10 per year gives you free hat hire, 10% off private lessons, discounts at nominated retailers, advanced notice of special offers and occasions and so much more.
